Official League Rules & Regulations

Whether you're a seasoned veteran or stepping up to the oche for the first time, we're glad you're here. Please read these rules carefully — they keep the competition fair and the fun going all season long.

1

League Format

1.1 — Season Length

The regular season consists of 12 weeks of scheduled match play. Each week's schedule will be posted on the league website and distributed to all team captains prior to the start of the season.

1.2 — End-of-Season Banquet

At the conclusion of the 12-week regular season, the league will hold an End-of-Season Banquet to celebrate the year and recognize top-performing teams. Cash payouts will be awarded to the top three finishing teams:

🥇

1st Place

Top payout
🥈

2nd Place

Runner-up payout
🥉

3rd Place

Third place payout

Payout amounts will be announced prior to the banquet and are based on total funds collected through entry fees for the season.

2

Entry Fees & Payouts

2.1 — Player Entry Fee

The entry fee is $60.00 per player, due before the first scheduled night of play. Players who have not paid their entry fee in full will not be permitted to play until payment is received.

2.2 — Fee Allocation

All entry fees collected will be pooled and distributed as end-of-season payouts for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams. The specific payout breakdown will be communicated to all teams at the beginning of the season.

2.3 — Refunds

Entry fees are non-refundable once the season has begun.

3

Team Rosters & Flights

3.1 — Roster Size

Each team may have a maximum of 6 players on its roster. Rosters must be finalized and submitted to the league manager prior to the start of the season. Any roster additions after the season begins must be approved by the league manager.

3.2 — Player Flight Classifications

All players are required to compete in their proper flight classification. Flight levels include, but are not limited to:

Masters AA A B + Additional as assigned

Flight placement is determined by the league manager based on the player's skill, ratings, and history. All flight determinations made by the league manager are final.

3.3 — No Sandbagging

Sandbagging will not be tolerated. Any player found to be intentionally competing below their skill level will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including suspension or removal from the league.

4

Match Scheduling & Attendance

4.1 — Scheduled Match Nights

All matches must be played on the dates and times prescribed by the official league schedule. The schedule will be available on the league website and provided to each team captain at the start of the season. Matches may not be moved simply for convenience.

4.2 — Punctuality

Teams and players are expected to arrive on time and be ready to play at the designated match start time. A grace period of 15 minutes may be granted at the league manager's discretion. Teams or players who fail to appear without prior notice may forfeit their matches for that evening.

4.3 — Rescheduling

Any requests to reschedule a match must be submitted to the league manager in advance and agreed upon by both team captains. The league manager reserves the right to approve or deny any rescheduling request.

5

Sportsmanship & Conduct

5.1 — Code of Conduct

All players, captains, and guests are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and sportsmanlike manner at all times. The following behaviors will not be tolerated:

  • Verbal abuse, taunting, or harassment of any player or official
  • Deliberate distraction of a player who is throwing
  • Unsportsmanlike gestures, profanity directed at others, or aggressive behavior
  • Intentional cheating or manipulation of scores

5.2 — Oche Etiquette

No player or spectator shall stand next to, on, or in front of the oche while a player is throwing. Players waiting their turn must remain at a respectful distance and refrain from any action that could distract or interfere with the active thrower. Violations will result in a warning; repeated violations are subject to further disciplinary action.

5.3 — Alcohol & Behavior

While this is a bar-based league and social drinking is expected, players are responsible for their own conduct. Excessive intoxication that disrupts play or creates an unsafe environment may result in removal from that evening's play and a potential disciplinary review.

5.4 — Disciplinary Actions

The league manager holds full authority over all disciplinary matters. Penalties may include warnings, point deductions, forfeiture of matches, suspension, or removal from the league. All disciplinary decisions are final.

6

Scoring & Match Reports

6.1 — Score Sheets

All score sheets must be completed in full and turned in to the league manager at the end of each nightly match play session. Incomplete or missing score sheets may result in forfeited games for the responsible team.

6.2 — Flight Captain Responsibility

The flight captain of each team is responsible for ensuring that the match report is:

  • Filled out completely with all required information
  • Filled out accurately, reflecting the true results of all games played
  • Signed by both team captains to confirm agreement on the results
  • Submitted to the league manager before leaving the venue on match night

Disputes arising from incomplete or inaccurate match reports will be resolved at the league manager's discretion, and that decision is final.

6.3 — Score Disputes

Any scoring disputes must be raised before leaving the venue on match night. Disputes brought forward after the venue has been vacated may not be reviewed. The league manager's ruling on all disputes is final.

7
